As you will be aware we opened as Lostock Hall Academy at the beginning of the new academic year and we are no longer part of the Local Authority. However, we do not work in isolation because other outstanding schools within Lancashire have become academies and we work very closely with these schools.
One of the main reasons for converting to academy status was to gain more control over funding and admissions. We are soon to consult on amendments to our admissions policy in order to extend our catchment area (Geographical Priority Area) to include the west of the M6 motorway and the south of Higher Walton Road, which will include Walton-le-Dale and Holland House.
